A Valley man has made filling up your gas tank something people actually look forward to.
For the past three years at the Fry's gas station at Gilbert and Baseline roads, adults and kids alike get extra love from arguably the friendliest fuel clerk in the Valley.
Marshall Olson takes incredible pride in his job and it doesn't go unnoticed.
Rain or shine, hot or even hotter, his upbeat personality never waivers from the first pump to the last.
"I do what I do because that's the way it should be done. That's just the way I feel," Olson said.
Olson doesn't accept tips.
"My tip is a simple handshake, is that smile, is a laugh, is a hug. That's all I ever want to ask for," Olson said.
Middle school teacher and regular customer Kelly Farnsworth decided to put that tip policy to the test when he emailed CBS 5 News about Olson's amazing customer service.
Farnsworth paid it forward to Olson, presenting him with a check for $500.
"I'm honored. I'm just so blessed, you know? This is something else, man. Something I never would have even thought of. You know, this is amazing, truly amazing," Olson said.
