The family of the East Texas woman who was shot and killed at a football game Thursday night is speaking out and want to know why it came down to this.

When asked to describe Cheyenne Green, the first statement made by her family is that she was a loving mother. The 29-year-old graduated from Gilmer High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad and the volleyball team.

"She was bubbly, she always could laugh at herself about anything. She was clumsy at times but she was a lot of fun, beautiful and smart. She was a great girl. I'm going to miss her," says Alaine Green, Cheyenne's cousin.

Green graduated from Northeast Texas Community College in 2007 with her Associate's Degree in Science. Up until her death, she was working at Gregg Industrial Insulators in Longview. 

Family members say Green leaves behind her young son, Trenton. This young mother will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family added that they knew her and Jonathan Ray Shepherd, the man accused of killing Green, had their problems but never imagined it would come down to this.
