Expect detours on I-475 this weekend - WTVM.com-Columbus, GA News Weather & Sports

I-475, I-75 interchange open for weekday traffic

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A major traffic project delayed motorists' drive through Toledo this past weekend but ODOT says a major step of the project was completed, despite the rain.

Construction closed eastbound 475 to southbound 75, since Friday night, but it will be open for Monday morning rush hour traffic.

The weekend's work was one of the last major steps in the project as the I-75/475 interchange upgrade begins winding down.

A similar switch will occur next weekend for westbound I-475 traffic, all part of a multimillion-dollar project ODOT has been working on for three years.

"We've widened it, we've reconstructed it, all-new pavement, 10 new bridges, ProMedica interchange," said Dennis Charvet, from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel: Depending on the weather, the project will finally wrap-up by mid-November.
