TUCSON, AZ (TNN) – A familiar sound filled Fox Theater Friday night with chants of "U of A" and "Lute" as the coach who led the Arizona Wildcats to a national championship prepared to watch the 1997 victory on the big screen.

"We watched so many films during the course of the year that you just get tired of breaking everything down so it'll be interesting for me to see for the first time from a different vantage point," said former U of A basketball coach Lute Olson.

Coach Lute Olson was not alone.  The team from 1997 was at the Fox to both thank the fans and help Primavera Foundation raise funds for creating pathways out of poverty.

"Anything I can do to help give back to the Tucson community, place that has given so much to me, my family and my teammates over my lifetime.  I was more than glad to come back and do that," said Miles Simon, former U of A forward Miles Simon.

"We have the best fans in the entire nation.  Arizona Wildcat basketball is a family and to even pull up tonight and see the line around the building for something like this, with the Primavera Foundation and the Blair Charity Group, It's so special and I know also to the guys who are also here today," said former U of A center A.J. Bramlett.

The leader of Blair Charity Group is also a Wildcat.  He wasn't at the championship.  But he knows life on the court.

"I know from my experience as a player what it means to this community for us to be a part of it and also as a Tucsonan now, I know what it's like to support the Wildcats and support the team so I've been very fortunate to see both sides of the situation," said Joseph Blair, CEO of the Blair Charity Group.
