Bulldog Football Has Two Players Earn SEC Weekly Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia senior quarterback Aaron Murray and sophomore placekicker Marshall Morgan have both received weekly Southeastern Conference honors, according to a league announcement on Monday.

Murray was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.  Morgan received the first conference honor of his career after being named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Theses mark the fourth and fifth SEC honors in four game weeks for the Bulldogs. Murray was also named the Offensive Player of the Week after the win over #6 South Carolina, sophomore tailback Todd Gurley garnered the same award following the matchup with #8 Clemson and freshman receiver Reggie Davis was the Freshman of the Week after his performance versus North Texas.

Murray, a native of Tampa, Fla., went 20-for-34 for 298 yards and four touchdowns while also adding a rushing score.  He connected with Justin Scott-Wesley for a game-winning 25-yard touchdown at the 1:47 mark in the final quarter.

Picking up victories over two top-10 teams in the last three games, Murray moved into the No. 2 spot in school history for career passing yardage at 11,429 (former Bulldog David Greene holds the school and SEC records at 11,528).  Murray now also has 11,659 yards of total offense, which is also No. 2 in SEC history.

Murray was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the Athlon Sports National Player of the Week and the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Performer and National Quarterback of the Week.

Morgan, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., scored 14 points in the Bulldogs' three-point win over the Tigers.  He connected on all five of his PATs and was 3-for-3 on field goals, including a career-long 55 yarder that put Georgia up by a touchdown in the third quarter.

Morgan was also named the CFPA National Placekicker of the Week.

The sixth-ranked Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0 SEC) travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face Tennessee (3-2, 0-1) on Oct. 5.
