OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) -

The murder trial for LaBrande Hugley continues inside a Lee County courtroom.

The district attorney says 31-year old Hugley shot and killed 39-year old David Lyles in September 2012.

The prosecution says Hugley shot Lyles several times after Lyles asked him to leave a party along Chester Avenue in Opelika.

Hugley's attorney argued her client could not have been the shooter, because he was not there in September 2012.

The trial is expected to wrap up this week.
