Your Exclusive Look at What's Ahead on News Leader 9 at 11

Good evening I'm Barbara Gauthier in the WTVM Newsroom.  Hope to see you in about thirty minutes for News Leader 9 at 11.  Here's your exclusive look at some of the stories we're working on for the newscast.

A soldier is dead after a parachute training accident on Fort Benning this afternoon.  We will tell you who he is and what happened.

Plus, with the government shutdown underway for almost 24 hours, there are suggestions from leaders in both parties that the shutdown could last for weeks.  Each side continues to point the figure at the other. We'll have the latest on the debate.

Meantime, as the shutdown continues active duty military will continue to be paid but their grocery bill could skyrocket.  Commissaries are being shut down at bases nationwide including the one on Fort Benning. Martin Army Hospital is also starting to feel the impact.  News Leader 9's Curtis McCloud talks to hospital officials and employees about how they're being affected.

Join us for those stories and much more tonight on News Leader 9 at 11.
