MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Businesswoman and former educator Kia Chambers announced her candidacy for Muscogee County School Board at an event on Oct. 1. She is trying to fill the one open seat on the nine member Board.
"I've had personal hands-on experience in the classroom and I've had personal hands-on experience running a business. So I think when you couple those two things together, you get a unique perspective and that's what I think I'll bring to the board," she says.
Chambers was a teacher and academic coach at Hannan Elementary for ten years before starting her business.
