FEMA recalls furlough workers preparing for Tropical Storm Karen

(WTVM) - Governor Robert Bentley says Alabama emergency response agencies will be ready to respond to Tropical Storm Karen as needed.

He's also encouraging people across the state to prepare for potential impacts of the storm.

Also, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is recalling some furloughed workers to help prepare for Tropical Storm Karen.

About 86 percent of the FEMA staff was furloughed due to lack of funding caused by the partial government shutdown.
