Editorial: "Viewer Feedback: Dysfunction Personified"

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Our editorial earlier this week focusing on the Federal Government shutdown elicited the following feedback via emails received and comments on wsfa.com and our WSFA 12 News station Facebook page…here is just a sampling:

Frank responded:"I agree with your editorial – the Senate, House and the President are dysfunctional. Years ago Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neil would work out their differences.  Today, everyone hates each other over ideological ideals."

Michelle provided the following, "Hold the President accountable? Clearly it's the GOP that's at fault. The President ran on Healthcare and won by a healthy margin. The GOP is still upset about the loss. Obamacare is here to stay. Vote the GOP out."

Chris writes, "I agree that congress and our president need to be held accountable for this mess. To just shut down the government and send people home without pay is just ridiculous."

Lastly Mike adds, "I'm one of "we the people" and no, I do not hold the President, or the members of the Senate responsible. When one group is dysfunctional, I will not generically blame everybody. I'm too intelligent to do that when, and even though it's the ‘safe' thing to do, I know it's just not true. The Republicans have created this crisis by attempting to get their way at the expense of all of us"

As always, we encourage and appreciate your feedback.
