HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Alumni from a Huntsville school is fighting a plan to change the school's name.

School leaders want to replace the building with a $65 million construction project for a brand new state of the art school.

J.O. Johnson alumni want to keep the name the same. They've planned a march this Saturday and are inviting people from every Huntsville city school to participate.

The school district plans to build a new high school on Pulaski Pike near Winchester Road. It will replace the building on Pueblo Drive.

The plan also includes a new junior high school that would merge Davis Hills and Ed White Middle Schools.
