Video shows Montgomery Publix armed robbery

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department is asking the public for help in locating the person who robbed the Publix on Vaughn Road Monday night.

Police have released surveillance video of the armed robbery. It happened around 7:15 p.m.

The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie, blue basketball shorts, white and gray Nike shoes and a black bandanna over his face.

The video shows the suspect approaching an employee at the customer service counter and pointing a gun at him. Police say the suspect told the employee to "give it up," placed a backpack on the counter and ordered the employee to put cash in it.

The robber then zipped up the backpack and walked out of the store.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police say the man is considered armed and dangerous.
