MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Department of Corrections confirmed this morning that Brent Springford Jr., the man convicted of murdering his parents in 2004, has died. Officials say on Monday he was found unresponsive in his cell. They believe that he died of natural causes but they are still awaiting an autopsy.

Officials say this event is one of the biggest hosted by the city and this year's it is going to be the biggest and best yet.
