Pay issue arises with Jr. ROTC, Veterans Day parade

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A pay schedule problem may prevent Junior ROTC members from leading Savannah's annual Veterans Day parade.

According to parade organizers, this is due to a change from a 12-month pay schedule to an 11 month pay schedule for Junior ROTC commanders.

The policy and pay change won't allow them to even volunteer to walk with the cadets during the parade on Nov. 11.

Organizers say they want the Junior ROTC cadets in the parade, but they can't march without their adult commanders due to liability reasons.

Officials are now exploring their options for a possible solution.
