Fans, law enforcement officers ready for Luke Bryan concert

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Country music star Luke Bryan rocked the stage at a Lee County farm for his 2013 Farm Tour.

The party started at 6 p.m. CT, but hundreds of fans and dozens of law enforcement officers were ready to go early.

Passing the time by jamming out to Luke Bryan, this car full of country music fans, and hundreds more, pulled over on the side of Highway 80 and waited several hours before they could hear his songs live on stage.

Danielle Draper said she arrived at 11 a.m. "because we wanted to get the best parking."

"We wanted to get in the gates first and get to the stage," said Jessica Davis on why she got there early.

State Troopers, Auburn and Opelika police and Lee County deputies have been preparing for the concert and crowd for months.

"We will be out in force, we hope people will corporate and be patient as we try to get them in and get them out safely," said Sheriff Jay Jones with the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Tens of thousands will gather at a southern Lee County farm, in a big horse pasture for the concert. Sheriff Jones is begging folks to designate a driver.

"We want folks to know we will be out watching you drive, if you're drinking we will pull you over arrest you and take you to jail and give you a DUI," said Sheriff Jones.

Some 25,000 folks are expected out at the concert tonight, so be patient especially with parking. Whatever you do, don't drink and drive, because officers will be out in force.
