Music blends right in with cruisers

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

At each Cruisin' venue, cars sparkle, and entertainers shine.  Cruisin' the Coast is giving local and regional bands an opportunity to showcase their tunes and talents.

The band "Modern El Dorado" drove over from Mobile to entertain folks at the Pass Christian block party.  The band has been performing at Cruisin' events for the last eight years, and will be in south Mississippi all this week.

Members say their 60s-era original songs, and a collection of oldies, fit in well with the Cruisin' crowd.

Gretsch Lyles is one of the entertainers. "It offers us a lot of exposure and luckily for us the style of music that we play fits perfectly in with the car culture, so it's a perfect fit for us and for car people, so we're very happy to be here," said Lyles.

While in town, "Modern El Dorado" will also perform at local night clubs.

To see who's performing the rest of the weekend at Cruisin venues in Ocean Springs, D'Iberville, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis, visit http://www.cruisinthecoast.com/schedule.html
