PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

Six people from Forrest General who in one way or another care for others on a daily basis took their caring nature out into the community Friday.

The six were on McInnis Street in Petal working on what will be the 62nd Habitat for Humanity home to be built in Hattiesburg and Petal.

The volunteers worked on putting up cabinets, laying down flooring, and installing door knobs.

Chaplain Brian Williamson, Coordinator for Pastoral Services at the hospital, says genuinely caring for people around them is what they are all about.

"Many of us do care, that's why we are here," said Williamson. "This is an opportunity to give back to the community we care about. We live here, these are our neighbors, these are people that we really care about and we're just glad to be a part of helping somebody that needs our help."

The house is scheduled to be ready for Cynthia Stevens and her family to move into by Christmas.
