(CNN) -

Some Halloween candy is apparently worse for your teeth than others.

With the trick or treating holiday just around the corner, insurer Delta Dental has released a new list of the best and worst kinds of treats for the teeth.

Among the worst are sticky, chewy candies, such as candy corn and gummy bears.

So what's better? Chocoholics will rejoice:

Plain chocolate because it melts quickly, decreasing the time sugar is in contact with your teeth.

You can also opt for sugar-free gum and lollipops.
