AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Police have arrested 36-year-old Dameon J. Watson of Montgomery, Ala.  in connection with a series of vehicle thefts and damages on Oct. 5, 2013.

More than a dozen vehicles parked in the area of N. Gay St., E. Glenn Ave. and College St. were damaged or had items taken from them.  Items stolen included purses, electronics, credit cards and other property left in the vehicles.

Police acquired video of a person of interest using credit cards stolen during the thefts in local shopping areas. Auburn detectives, along with investigators from the Montgomery Police Department, developed Watson as a suspect.

Watson was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 16, on warrants for Unlawful Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property Second Degree. He was transported to the Lee county Jail where bond was set at $6,000.

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected.
