COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Soldiers and veterans trying to find work got a helping hand on Thursday.
The Georgia Department of Labor hosted the "Paychecks for Patriots Career Expo" this morning.
According to the department, as many as 80,000 veterans will return to Georgia in the next four years in need of jobs.
The career expo was held at Columbus State University.
Lynne Jones, the regional director of the Department of Labor in Georgia, told us why veterans are qualified for the jobs.
Several paychecks for Patriots Career Expos took place today across Georgia in Augusta, Atlanta, Savannah and Warner Robins.
