Vigil, rally to take place for Savannah shooting victim

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Family and friends are planning to remember a shooting victim killed on the streets of Savannah.

Timothy Roberts was shot last Saturday night at the intersection of Victory Drive and Hopkins Street. Savannah-Chatham Metro violent crimes detectives are still investigating the shooting.

According to family members, Roberts was a single father, killed in the Cuyler-Brownsville community in which he lived his entire life.

On Friday, family and friends want to send a message about violence in the community. There will be a vigil and community rally held Oct. 18 in honor of Timothy Bernard Roberts. It will be from 6 to 9 p.m. in the 3000 block of Hopkins Street.
