    Georgia has seen its first flu-related death this year, and 108 people have been hospitalized so far this season in our area due to the flu. The health department says the individual who died from the flu was elderly, but it can strike anyone at any time.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Thousands of Blue Cross Blue Shield individual plan customers have received letters that their plans will be canceled, and they will be enrolled in a more expensive plans.

Many of their premiums are doubling or tripling per month.

Blue Cross Blue Shield is the only insurance Carrier on Alabama's health-care exchange under Obamacare, but if you're in good health, it may not be your only option.

WSFA 12 News reporter Bethany Wales talked with an insurance agent Friday who is finding other plans, and saving of people thousands of dollars - at least through 2014.

Other Insurance carriers, who are not a part of the healthcare exchange, are not yet required to comply with the Affordable Care Act.
