Officials: progress made after Mitchell Co. High water main break

Posted: Updated:

Superintendent Vic Hill says progress is being made on the water damage at Mitchell County High School.

Crews have removed much of the water from the wing that was hit the hardest and it could re-open early next week.

Late Wednesday night a water main broke in the ceiling and flooded half the school with nearly a million gallons of water. It prompted school to be canceled for one day.

Officials are still assessing the damage.
