CONYERS, GA (CBS46) -

More than 2,000 people signed up to participate in The Great Bull Run on Saturday at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers.

Organizers said their first run of the event in Virginia went well in August, with about 4,000 people taking part in a run with the bull. Chief Operating Officer Rob Dickens said he is hopeful their other nine stops nationally will do well, starting in Conyers.

"I think people are excited this has finally come to the states," said Dickens.

Dickens said people sign up regardless of the potentially life-threatening injuries that come with running alongside 1,500-pound wild animals.

"I would call the (participants) thrill seekers," said Dickens. "You don't have to be crazy to do it, but you do have to be adventurous."

He said people have to sign a waiver acknowledging the risks of running with bulls before they enter in the event.
