WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) -

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a convenience store on Thursday evening, Oct. 17.

The suspect reportedly acted as though he was purchasing a drink. When the cash register opened, he leaned over the counter, took an undetermined amount of money and fled the store.

He then drove east on Hwy 18 in a black 2010 Nissan Versa displaying a Georgia tag.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11", approximately 150 lbs., mid 40s, with black hair, receding hair line, brown eyes, and light skin. He was wearing a white shirt with a brown design on the left upper portion of the shirt, black pants and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the identity and location of the suspect should call the West Point Police Department Criminal Investigative Division at 706-645-3551, or Crime Stoppers at 334-756-8200.
