The driver that pled guilty to the reckless murder of a Montgomery pedestrian was sentenced on Friday.

Kevin Kynard Crosskey was sentenced to 20 years, split to serve five years. Crosskey was charged with reckless murder and first degree assault.

Crosskey was ordered to complete a substance abuse treatment program while incarcerated, and the court stated that they would review his case after two years. After that time, it is possible that Crosskey could be released if he does everything he is suppose to.

Crosskey was charged with reckless murder after he was involved in a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Friday, October 18.

MPD charged Crosskey in connection with the death of pedestrian, Ashlee Mock, 25, also of Montgomery.

On October 18, 2013, at approximately 11:27 p.m., Montgomery Police and Fire medics responded to the 1900 Block of Yarbrough Street in reference to two pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle.

MPD's initial investigation indicates a 2007 Dodge Durango driven by Crosskey was traveling west bound on Yarbrough Street when he collided with a parked vehicle and two pedestrians standing in close proximity.

Mock was fatally injured and pronounced dead on the scene. Family members tell WSFA 12 News her small dog, Scooter, was also killed.

The other pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Crosskey received minor injuries.

Following his arrest, Crosskey was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Mock was Montgomery's 16th traffic fatality of 2013.
