AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Police are investigating a shooting that involved two Opelika teenagers around 10 p.m. last night, Oct. 23, at the Auburn University Village Apartments on Longleaf Dr.

According to the Auburn Police Department, a complainant says the two teenagers entered an apartment and demanded property from the complainant. One of the juveniles allegedly brandished a weapon while making the demands.

An altercation ensued and shots were exchanged between the complainant and the suspects.

The two teenagers fled, and police found them at the Murphy's USA gas station across the street from the complex. They were identified as a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, both from Opelika, Ala.

Both of the suspects were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room for gunshot-related injuries. The 16-year-old was treated, released, and transported to the Lee County Jail. The 17-year-old is expected to be transported to Lee County jail today, Oct. 24.

The juveniles are both charged with Robbery 1st Degree; bond has been set for $100,000.00 each.

Police say the investigation and may result in other arrests.
