A Mesa man was caught downloading hundreds of images and videos sexually exploiting children.

The Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force identified a computer that was obtaining images and videos of young children engaged in sex acts. The computer was tracked to the 4800 block of East Hilton Avenue where police issued a search warrant.

Police said they found evidence and the owner of the computer, Daniel Ortega, admitted to downloading the images for more than two years. He also admitted to using search terms for child pornography while using a software installed on his home computer.

Police said Ortega's spouse is a school teacher and there are children in the home with him.

Ortega was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
