Gospel choir heading to nationals representing the Midlands

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Darryl Izzard and Christ-N-U Choir took the top regional honors at the "Verizon's How Sweet The Sound" gospel celebration and competition at the Atlanta Civic Center earlier this month.

After one of the selected choirs, unfortunately, had to drop out the competition the day before the Atlanta show, officials contacted Izzard to see if they were available to participate.

Verizon's HSTS is a nationwide search for the best gospel choir in America.

Now in its sixth year, the management team invites church, collegiate and community choirs to participate in the gospel experience. The goal of the program is to celebrate music and create a lasting impact on churches and communities across the country.

The next stop on the tour is the grand finale on Nov. 2 in Los Angeles where Christ-N-U Choir will be representing the Midlands.
