ST. STEPHENS, SC (WIS) -

A man wanted in connection with an AMBER Alert out of Berkeley County has been captured  following a car crash in Williamsburg County.

Law enforcement officials caught up with 36-year-old Telly Darnell McClam at about 10 p.m. Monday. Sheriff's investigators and SLED say he abducted 17-year-old LeAndre' Shalaunti Deare Jenkins and Deandrene W. McHoney.

Officials say McClam crashed his car, a 2000 Hyundai Accent, with the victims still inside and fled the scene into a nearby wooded area.  McClam is a registered sex offender for a 1999 criminal sexual conduct conviction.

Jenkins and McHoney were abducted early Monday morning.

Authorities say McClam was arrested in April 2012 after ramming McHoney's car and kidnapping her. St. Stephen Police Chief Johns Waters said McClam was dating McHoney at the time of the incident.

According to Waters, in that incident, McClam later released McHoney in Williamsburg County. He was charged with attempted murder, malicious injury to property and kidnapping. The charges were later dropped . McClam also previously served jail time on burglary charges.

Waters said McClam and McHoney were recently dating until she left McClam's home with her daughter on Thursday.

McHoney's other daughter, Shanerio McHoney, explained what happened this morning.

"Well, my mom didn't answer any of his calls and he said he's gonna have to do something to get her with him, so he went to my grandma's house and he sat in the woods and waited for my grandma and granddaddy to leave to take her to work," said Shanerio. "He went in there and he broke the door and he took my sister out about 5 o'clock this morning."
