Dave Platta

Dave Platta is the sports anchor on Fox 54 News at 10 Tuesday thru Friday.

Dave has earned 11 awards for his work since coming to Columbus, including honors for specials he produced and anchored, a series on the history of baseball in Columbus, as well as feature reporting, and his photography.

Dave also earned a Georgia Association of Broadcasters Award of Merit for his work on the 1995 Auburn-Alabama preview show, "Battle for Braggin' Rights."

Before coming to WTVM, Dave worked at WGHP-TV in High Point, North Carolina as weekend sports anchor, and at WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin as a sports reporter/photographer. He also worked at WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois and KHQA-TV in Quincy, Illinois.

Dave attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-TV. Originally from Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Dave is married and has two sons.
