AUBURN, Ala. - Chris Denson scored 21 points with seven rebounds and four assists to lead five Tigers in double figures as Auburn defeated Victory University 109-67 in its exhibition opener on Monday at Auburn Arena.

Auburn shot 60 percent from the floor for the game and led 56-31 at the break after a 3-pointer by Dion Wade at the halftime buzzer. The Tigers held Victory to 23 percent shooting (7-of-30) in the first half.

Freshman point guard Tahj Shamsid-Deen scored 16 points on 4-of-5 from outside with four assists. Benas Griciunas added 15 points off the bench while KT Harrell and Asauhn Dixon Tatum each scored 14 points.

Malcolm Canada totaled nine points with nine assists. The Tigers finished with 25 assists on 43 field goals. Auburn out-rebounded Victory 51-33 led by eight rebounds from Chris Griffin.

Tyrell Hursey and Michael Davis each scored 20 points to pace the Eagles.

Auburn closes out exhibition play on Friday against Paine College at 7 p.m. CT.
