BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Sheriff's deputies in Brunswick County have safely located the young man missing since Monday.

DaMonte Batts, 15, was last seen around 4 p.m. Monday at North Brunswick High School, where he is a student. He was found in Leland sometime before 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

At first authorities did not believe Batts was in any danger, but escalated the report Tuesday morning. According to the sheriff's office, Batts is now considered "an endangered juvenile."

Emily Flax, public information officer of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office said investigators did not explain why Batts is endangered, but it could have to do with factors involving his age and how long he has been missing.
