WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A warm high pressure system will bring above-average temperatures and very low rain chances to close October. A cold front will bring rain chances Friday and Saturday.
WEDNESDAY: Fog will be possible in patches to start - with temperatures in the 50s. For the afternoon, expect a mix of sun and clouds, light south breezes, and highs mainly in the upper 70s.
THURSDAY: Temperatures will warm to highs mainly in the upper 70s - a toasty forecast for trick-or-treat routes and other afternoon festivals. Shower chance not quite zero but low: 10 - 20%.
FRIDAY AND NEXT WEEKEND: A cold front will bring a chance of showers and perhaps even a thunderstorm Friday into early Saturday. Sunday looks dry. Daily highs: mainly 70s for Fri and Sat but 60s are more likely for Sunday with lows back into the 40s for Monday morning.
TROPICAL OUTLOOK: New tropical storm development is not expected in the Atlantic, Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico through the late parts of the week.
