One nutritionist in the Chattahoochee Valley area is making it her job to teach families about eating healthy.

Julee Christie is one of only four nutritionists in the whole state of Georgia to receive a grant for the program "Healthy Eating From the Ground Up."

"Plant-base foods, foods that are grown in the earth—those foods are high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals," says Christie. "Many of them have protein in them. They've been shown to prevent disease. That's why we're trying to promote it to our kids to prevent disease, and grow up healthy."

The next presentation will be Nov. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1329 Wynnton Road.
