GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The man responsible for killing his girlfriend, her parents, and two children Tuesday evening appeared to be calm when he placed a call to 911, hours before authorities discovered six bodies inside a Greenwood County home.

27-year-old Bryan Sweatt called Greenwood County 911 at 5:54 p.m. to ask for an officer to be dispatched to his ex-girlfriend's parents residence on Callison Highway.

Sweatt: "I need an officer to 2007 Callison Highway."

Operator: "What's wrong?"
Sweatt: "Oh, I'm just stressed out and I'm about to take my life. I mean..."

Operator: "What's your name?"
Sweatt: "It's unknown."

Operator: "Do you have a weapon with you?"
Sweatt: "Huh?"
Operator: "Do you have a weapon with you?"
Sweatt: "Yes."

Operator: "What do you have, sir?"
Sweatt: "A .44"

At that point in the call, Sweatt is heard ordering someone in the home to "get in there." One of the victims can he heard saying, "Don't point that at me."

The operator asks, "What's going on?" But Sweatt hangs up.

Two minutes later a call is placed to 911 from a neighbor's house.

The woman who placed the call said four children arrived at her home and told an armed Sweatt turned them away from the home. "He hollered at them that nobody could come out of the house," the caller said.

The kids said that Sweatt told them he had tied up two adults and two children with duct tape. They also reported hearing a gunshot.

Operator: "Bryan Sweatt took her mother in the back of the room and they did hear a gun go off? You stay where you are and you just take care of those children."

The caller told the operator the kids saw blood on the doorway and a shattered window.

Responding deputies believed the incident to be a hostage situation, but did not hear any response when they tried to make contact with Sweatt.

When authorities entered the home, they discovered six bodies. All of the victims died from gunshot wounds. Sweatt took his own life.
