COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Law enforcement officials from around the country are in Columbus this week to enhance their investigation skills.
It's all part of the Russell County Sheriff Office's advanced practical homicide investigation seminar that kicked off in Columbus yesterday.
Attendees are being exposed to various death investigations and complex homicide cases.
"Learning from people who've done this before me is a big help so I'm not shocked by what I see, and I can function and make logical conclusions based on what I'm looking at," says Detective Jules Farmer, from Richardson, Tx.
The seminar includes experts in the field of interview and interrogation, forensic pathology, bloodstain pattern analysis and major case investigation.
