January trial for Superior man accused of threats

FLORENCE, AZ (AP) -

A January trial date has been set for a man accused of making threats against schools and employees in Superior.

Pinal County authorities say 39-year-old Antonio Jose Ramirez, of Superior, was arrested in the case in May.

He remains held on a $100,000 cash bond as he awaits trial on Jan. 6.

Prosecutors say Ramirez allegedly left a voicemail message in November 2011 at John F. Kennedy Elementary School threatening to burn employees.

They say Ramirez also is accused of threatening to blow up a school employee, everyone at her home and people at Kennedy Elementary and Superior Junior/Senior High School in April.

Ramirez is charged with two felony counts of interfering with the peaceful conduct of an educational institution and one felony count of interfering with an educational institution.
