TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Thieves have gone to desperate measures to rip off five local stores. Toledo Police say they need help putting those responsible behind bars.

Police say they believe a pair of suspects has been targeting Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in the area. They want what's inside so bad, they throw their bodies right through the glass door.

TPD began noticing the smash-and-grabs about three weeks ago. The most recent occurred Monday morning.

Surveillance video from a Family Dollar in October shows what police believe is one person serving as a lookout while the other went into the store, knocked over the cigarette storage display, and loaded up.

"This is a very determined person, and pretty reckless in his actions," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan. "So this is somebody that we need to figure out who it is and get them behind bars."

Police say the incidents have been occurring between midnight and 6 a.m.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
