Columbus Water Works proposes increased water bill

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Water Works is proposing a rate hike, which means you could be paying more for water starting 2014.

Water bills are likely to go up by less than $3 a month, a 4.73 percent increase compared to the current rate.  The proposal also includes a five percent hike in water bills over the next five years.

If approved, the average water bill could be about $65 by 2018. There is no word yet on when the proposal will be voted on.

Also, a new roundabout is in the works for some folks in north Columbus. It will be built at Green Island Drive, Cascade Road and River Road.  The million dollar project is slated for construction in about a year and a half.
