5 charged in burglaries tied to north Columbus crime spree

Columbus Police announced Tuesdaythey may have solved as many as 26 burglaries that all took place in the north Columbusarea.

News Leader 9's DanteRenzulli was on the phone with detectives earlier on Tuesday who say they areconfident these five arrests will slow down the streak of crimes that havetaken place there recently.

We have learned the namesof the five men accused of being part of an organized team of burglars whotargeted homes in the middle of the day and stole everything they could gettheir hands on.

Thesuspects are Demon Moore, Emmanuel Williams, Jacobee Matthews, LaquintonRobinson, and Rickey Henderson.  All ofthese men are between the ages of 18 and 22 and all are charged with multiplecrimes.

DemonMoore, 20, is charged with first degree burglary; possession, manufacture, and distributionof controlled substance; theft by receiving stolen property, and theft bytaking a motor vehicle.

EmmanuelWilliams, 18, is charged with first degree burglary; possession of less thanone ounce of marijuana; possession, manufacture, and distribution of controlledsubstance; theft by receiving stolen property, and theft by taking a motorvehicle.

JacobeeMatthews, 20, is charged with first degree burglary; possession, manufacture, anddistribution of controlled substance; theft by receiving stolen property; theftby taking a motor vehicle; and violation of probation.

LaquintonRobinson, 22, is charged with first degree burglary; possession, manufacture, anddistribution of controlled substance; theft by receiving stolen property; theftby taking a motor vehicle, and violation of parole.

RickeyHenderson, 19, is charged with first degree burglary; driving with asuspended/revoked license; obstruction of a law enforcement officer; possession,manufacture, and distribution of controlled substance; theft by receivingstolen property; theft by taking, and theft by taking a motor vehicle.

Sofar these five men have only appeared in court in connection with one burglary,but police are confident that they will be able to tie them to a minimum of 26.
