Tide's McCarron, Mosely semifinalists for Walt Camp award, others

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WSFA) -

The Crimson Tide now has two football players in the running for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, as well as other honors.

Quarterback A.J. McCarron and linebacker C.J. Mosley are both now semifinalists for the Walt Camp award. Mosley also finds himself a semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

McCarron has thrown for 2,041 yards with 19 touchdowns this season as the Crimson Tide makes a run to reach the BCS National Championship for the third straight year.

McCarron, who's thrown just 3 interceptions all season, is the NCAA record holder with an interception ratio of one in every 83.5 pass attempts. He is Alabama's career leader in passing yards (7,997), touchdowns (68), completion percentage (67.4) and winning percentage (.944).

With a career record of 34 and 2 losses, McCarron not only holds a school record but is the best in SEC history as well. If McCarron wins one more game, he'll tie Jay Barker's school victories record for a quarterback.

Mosley's 71 tackles this season is also a record for the Tide. The linebacker has 7.0 tackles for loss (15 yards), five pass breakups and four quarterback hurries. He ranks ninth in career tackles with 282 and is quickly moving up the list. Since the start of the 2012 season, he has 84 more tackles (178 total) than anyone else on the Alabama defense (Trey DePriest, 94).

ALSO IN THE RUNNING FOR...

McCarron is now a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the Davey O'Brien Award and the Maxwell Award.

Mosley is a semifinalist for the Walker Camp Player of the Year, the Butkus Award, the Bednarik Award, the Lombardi Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
