(WMC-TV) - Shocking dash cam video from a New Mexico traffic stop has a Memphis mom facing serious charges.

Oriana Farrell was a student at the Harding School of Theology.

Harding students and staff were pretty tight lipped when asked about her involvement at the school.

Her friends say Oriana Farrell is a godly woman.

One friend says he was shocked when he saw the video of Farrell's recent high-speed chase with police in New Mexico.

On October 28, Farrell was pulled over for speeding. She was doing 71 in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Farrell told officers she was on a trip with her kids to the Rio Grande.

Shortly after, things begin to escalate when police say Farrell drove off and left the officer standing on the side of the road

With her five kids in the van, Farrell ended up driving away from officers twice.

At one point, her 14-year-old son got out of the van and quickly got back in when an officer pulled his taser.

She surrendered at a local hotel.

Farrell and the 14-year-old son were arrested.

She's charged with five counts of child abuse, fleeing law enforcement, and reckless driving.

Police also found drug paraphernalia in her van.

Farrell was also a part of the home school community in Memphis. The Memphis Area Home Education Association says Farrell was part of a support group there.

Oriana Farrell has bonded out of a New Mexico jail.

Action News Five tried to call her attorney in New Mexico, but he has not returned our calls.
