Three suspects appear in court in connection with several robberies

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The three men accused of robbing several Columbus businesses at gunpoint faced a judge in court today, Nov. 21.

Columbus investigators testified that Dominique Leonard, 17, made a huge mistake when he allegedly snatched a woman's purse in a Walmart parking lot.

Leonard is one-third of the group of criminals that have allegedly robbed people and nine businesses at gun-point, according to Police.

Both Leonard and17-year-old Darius Pollard confessed to participating in some of the robberies. Leonard's older brother, 20-year-old William Leonard, denied his involvement.

Investigators say employees at the Shell Gas Station on Warm Springs Rd. picked Dominique Leonard out of a photo line-up.

The Robbery/Homicide Division of the Columbus Police Department arrested the three suspects on Nov. 18, 2013.

The robberies they are accused of being involved in span a time period between Oct. 11 and Nov. 16, and involve nine businesses and five individual victims.

The robberies involve several convenient stores in Columbus, including two Circle K convenient stores and two Summit Shell gas stations. The full list of businesses are:

1. Summit Shell Station 4499 Warm Springs Rd. 11-16-13
2. Circle K 5758 Milgen Rd. 11-14-13
3. Circle K 1801 12th Ave. 11-15-13
4. Pleasure World 4401 Veterans Parkway 11-14-13
5. Domino's Pizza 5750 Milgen Rd. 11-12-13
6. Captain D's 1212 Manchester Expressway 10-28-13
7. Summit 8200 Williams Way 10-28-13
8. La Quinta Inn 2919 Warm Springs Rd. 10-28-13
9. Captain D's 1212 Manchester Expressway 10-15-13

All suspects face several charges in connection to the robberies. Charges include armed robbery and aggravated assault.

The trio is being held at the Muscogee County Jail without bond.
