MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department is confirming a second arrest in the city's 44th homicide of 2013. Wednesday evening, investigators confirmed that 22-year-old Rodricko Davis of Montgomery was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and charged with capital murder.

Police had previously arrested and charged 19-year-old Elijah Frazier of Montgomery with the same charges in connection with the shooting death of 29-year-old Keon Sankey, also of Montgomery.

Both men are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

On November 20th around 4:30 p.m. MPD and paramedics responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash, between Court Street and Norman Bridge Road, where they found Sankey was suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Sankey was transported by ambulance to Baptist Medical Center South in life-threatening condition but died from his injuries Thursday morning.

The driver of the second vehicle received only minor injuries.

The investigation determined the shooting occurred in the area of Burgwyn Road and Kippax Street on November 20. The circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting were initially unknown but further investigation indicates that the victim, Sankey, was shot during the course of a robbery.

The shooting happened at the foot of Malinda Edwards' driveway. "It was very frightening. I wasn't here at the time but when I came home I saw a lot of detectives picking up casings in the street," said Edwards.

Sankey's death is Montgomery's 44th homicide of 2013. No additional information is available for release relative to this ongoing investigation.
