PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Large lines formed outside of St. Mary's Food Bank Monday morning, located at 3131 W. Thomas Rd. in Phoenix, as they started their holiday food distribution.

Doors opened at 9 a.m. for the turkey giveaways, but lines started forming at 8:30 a.m., according to Jerry Brown at St. Mary's Food Bank.

Brown said that St. Mary's is anticipating more than 1,500 families will go through the doors for the turkey giveaways Monday alone.

St. Mary's is still accepting turkey and holiday food donations at both of their locations, including cash donations. Donations are being accepted at 2831 N. 31st Ave. in Phoenix and at 13050 W. Elm St. in Surprise. Both locations are open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
