COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Carolina-Clemson rivalry week opens Monday night with the annual Tigerburn pep rally in Columbia.  Tigerburn is at 5:30 on the intramural fields at Greene and Gadsden Streets.

The 30-foot tall tiger was built by the student American Society of Mechanical Engineers.  Their reward for their hard work is to see the tiger destroyed in flames.

The University of South Carolina (9-2) hosts Clemson (10-1) at Williams-Brice Stadium in the annual Palmetto State Rivalry Saturday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.  The game is sold out.

The American Red Cross announced last week that USC won the annual Carolina-Clemson blood drive.  It's the sixth straight year more blood was donated in the name of South Carolina than in the name of Clemson. South Carolina now leads the annual competition 15-14.  USC will be presented with a trophy at the game Saturday.

On Friday, Camden native and Nashville singer-songwriter Patrick Davis is playing a concert with friends at the "Fear the Thumb" party at the Tin Roof on Senate Street.  Davis is a Gamecocks fan and wrote "Just a Big Ol' (Game) Cock." His most recent CD is called "The Gamecock Album."

Saturday before the game, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture is hosting the Certified SC Grown Tailgate at Gamecock Village.  From 3- 6 p.m., fans can taste Tiger Fries, Cocky Wings, collard dip, chili, boiled shrimp and peach cobbler.  The tent will be near the children's activities area of Gamecock Village on Bluff Road, across from Williams-Brice Stadium.
