FRUITLAND, MO (KFVS) -

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 55 near Fruitland Monday.

Missouri State Troopers say the crash involved three tractor trailers in the northbound lane.

"There was a cow that had gotten lose from the packing plant down here and was in the median," Corporal Jeff McCullough with the Missouri Highway Patrol said. "We had traffic stopped. They had taken care of that and we had gotten traffic rolling again. Traffic was actually moving when the first truck ran into the back of the second truck which then hit the third truck."

Traffic has slowed to one lane.

Troopers on scene say one of the drivers was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
