COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

CBS Atlanta's Christopher King is reporting that Cobb County has approved a plan to build a $672 million new Braves stadium.

Fulton County Commissioner Robb Pitts said he would attend the Cobb County Board of Commissioners' meeting on Tuesday.

He wanted to hear public comments and debate around the Braves' proposed move to Cobb County.

During its meeting, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners considered a Memorandum of Agreement among Cobb County, the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum Museum Authority and the Atlanta National League Baseball Club, Inc.

"I have been monitoring this situation closely. At this time, I am not certain that this is a done deal and want to hear for myself the position of my counterparts in Cobb County," said Commissioner Pitts. Last night Commissioner Pitts attended Cobb County Commissioner Bob Ott's public hearing to garner more information and to hear both sides of the issue.

On November 20, 2013, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted legislation introduced by Commissioner Pitts urging continued negotiations to keep the Braves in Atlanta.

"We are taking this one step at a time," said Pitts. "As of today, I am still doing all I can to encourage the Braves to stay here in Atlanta."
