MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

A ruling published Wednesday morning grants part of a motion for equitable relief by two women a Columbus jury found were discriminated against by Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr.

U.S. District Courts Judge Clay Land has ordered Lieutenant Donna Tompkins be promoted to Captain and paid over $270,000 in attorney's fees.

Lieutenant Donna Wynn will not recover any equitable relief. Judge Land states,

"She would not have been promoted to captain even if Sheriff Darr had not been motivated by gender".

We will have more details ahead on WTVM News at Noon.
